Martin Zarka is a French Director awarded and recognized in numerous international film festivals including Festival de Brest, Around Film Festival (Danny Glover film festival), Lift off Tokyo, Los Angeles, Sydney. His first recognition started with his movie « Who are you » which won a vimeo Staff pick and the top prize in the international competition « SONY Short film Documentary 2014 » among over 1000 entries worldwide. He recently directed a documentary series project featuring leading photographers broadcasted in 2020 that Apar.tv compared to the Netflix show The « Chef’s Table ». The first two episodes featuring photographers Kourtney Roy and Joakim Eskildsen have been both selected and awarded at international festivals.

Martin crafts movies driven by creative and innovative storytelling ideas. He is a true storyteller. He knows how to spin a good narrative story, one that has a powerful opening and ending, framed by emotion and impactful scenes. His work is deep, as it is about « truth ». The truth of the characters, the truth of the moments, the truth of the expression. He crafts imaginative staging ideas to create an original picture and filming style. Martin brings a lot of creativity to the process of developing original photography, playing with colors, set design, actors, camera movement, music and sound.

Martin belongs to this new generation of filmmakers who have perfectly mastered the art of filmmaking, from the screenplay, through direction, to production /post-production. He wrote, directed, filmed, edited and produced lots of his own projects. He learned to master the “art of filmmaking” by learning and working almost at every job in the filmmaking process.

When it is not for his own project, he also helps other filmmakers as a team or collective.In the past, Martin founded and ran a production company for seven years, working as director, art director and producer on branded-content for brand such as ( Greenpeace, Alpine, Renault, Sony, Canal +, Paypal,  BNP Paribas, GDF Suez, Moleskine, Evian, Casino, Emoi-Emoi, Petite Friture…). He also produced cinema projects (short and future films), in collaboration with french TV channels, canal + and arte, on films awarded in major festivals such as Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, Cleveland, etc.–
